The Mt. Tam Quilt Guild will again be demonstrating a selection of their incredible quilts at the Marin Senior Fair. Quilts are on display along the walls of the Avenue of the Quilts as you enter the fair. Be sure to visit the Mt. Tam Quilt Guild in booths 304-305. A wide variety of quilted items are for sale and quilting demonstrations are ongoing during the fair.
About the Mt. Tam Quilt Guild
The Mt. Tam Quilt Guild promotes an interest in – and appreciation of – the art of quilt making, shares quilting information and education, encourages high standards of technique and design, and assists our community by utilizing the talents of our members to create quilts for those in need and donates the quilts through Marin County non-profit agencies.
This year the Mt. Tam Quilt Guild created 158 quilts for babies, children, and adults. We also created and donated pillowcases to bereaved children. The Mt. Tam Quilt Guild has donated lap and preemie quilts to Homeward Bound as well as the Neonatal ICU and the Palliative Care Services units at Marin General Hospital. Quilts were also donated to West Marin Community Services and West Marin Senior Services. The Mt. Tam Quilt Guild donated Through Happiness is a Warm Quilt quilts to victims of the North Bay fires. Through We Care, the Mt. Tam Quilt Guild donated quilts and pillowcases to students affected by the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA and the surrounding areas. Pillowcases have also been donated to Hospice by the Bay. It is through sponsorship from the Las Gallinas Lion’s Club that the Mt. Tam Quilt Guild is able to reach out to various organizations.
The Mt. Tam Quilt Guild meets at 6:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each month at the Aldersgate Methodist Church, at 1 Wellbrock Heights, San Rafael. New members and Guests ($5.00 fee) are always welcome.
